Absolutely. Surprises do not occur when treatment is thoroughly planned in advance. What makes our office special is… the thorough planning process used in designing each unique improvement for each patient. Our planning process uses digital imaging with sculptured before-and-after models of your teeth. We use these models to ensure that your preferences are used to design your ideal smile.

Can I refer my family, friends, and co-workers to your office?

The greatest compliment we can receive is the courtesy of your referral. Our practice grows continually from the many compliments we receive. Ask us about our “Share to Care” program.

How do I change an appointment?

Please let us know of any change in your plans at least 48 hours before the appointment. Since your appointment is a reservation of the doctors time, if you change your plans, time which has been reserved for you may not be available to other patients who are in pain and may need the appointment as soon as possible. If you feel nervous about coming to the dentist, please be aware that we make every effort to make you as comfortable as possible and answer all your questions.

What’s important about quality materials for my smile?

There are a wide variety of materials available for whitening, building up, and restoring teeth. And each of these materials has specific properties when used in specific applications. There are highly-precise color matching systems available today that can make shade-difference problems almost a thing of the past. The use of porcelain makes an artist out of a dentist. However, there are times when porcelain isn’t the right choice, and a moldable, bondable, composite resin can work well. There’s no magic formula to follow when choosing materials for cosmetic or restorative dentistry. Instead, you have to rely on the time tested skills of the dentist.

Why should I trust Dr. Korwin with something as important as my smile?

Expert dentistry comes from a combination of training, hands-on experience, and time-tested talent. That’s right! Dentistry is both a science and an art. On the science side of things, Dr. Korwin is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Dental School, with special training in esthetic and lifetime dentistry. Every year he attends hundreds of hours of continuing education courses. As to the artistic side of dentistry, no two smiles are alike, and no two people’s dental health status is alike. Creating truly beautiful, functional, and healthy smiles requires expert judgment that can only be developed over time. Dr. Korwin has over 27 years of experience improving smiles, during which he’s learned to assess and re-engineer the shape, size, color, and balance of teeth in ways that only an artist can understand. Please read a few letters of appreciation from many of Dr. Korwin’s happy patients. Their vote of 5 stars apply to one of the best NJ dentists.

How do I know when I should come in for a check-up?

According to the latest information on bacterial plaque and tartar, it can cause damage in most people after only 90 to 120 days (3-4 months), depending on their immune system, their diet, and their individual circumstances. So while the old school of thought said ‘come in every six months’, generalizing is not really accurate or safe.

At what age do my children need to be examined by a dentist?

Most children should be examined starting at the age of one year old, depending on their emotional and physical development. In the meantime, their parents should maintain the daily responsibilities of keeping their mouths clean, and ensuring that their nutrition is balanced with as little sugar as possible.

I don’t want braces but I would like straighter teeth, what should I do?

Depending on your exact situation, we can do many different things. Reshaping teeth, whitening and veneering teeth can help the smile that needs a smile lift. This can be done in as little as one or two visits. When teeth should be moved to improve your bite, Invisalign® or Clear Correct braces are clear removable plastic trays that work like regular braces, but do not show or can be removed when you want.

I don’t like drills. Do you have other options?

Yes, depending on the problem that we’re solving. We can restore small to medium areas of decay using air-abrasion.Larger areas may require a high speed air rotor handpiece or an electric handpiece. In any case, we’re experts at making our patients comfortable and relaxed, so you’ll probably find that you barely notice what we’re using at all.

Is it bad for my gums to bleed after I brush my teeth?

Bleeding during or after brushing indicates periodontal infection”in other words, your gums are inflamed and ‘leaky’ to some degree. The reason this is ‘bad’ is that if blood can leak out, it means bacteria can sneak in, get into your bloodstream, and cause all kinds of health problems. If your gums are bleeding, and you’re sure it’s not from some direct, unusual trauma, you need to let us take a look at the situation.
